Oracle Database 11g: Administration Workshop I
Introduction
This five-day instructor-led course is designed to give participants a firm foundation in basic database administration. In this workshop, participants learn how to install and maintain an Oracle database and gain a conceptual understanding of the Oracle database architecture and how its components work and interact with one another. This course also teach participants how to create an operational database and properly manage the various structures in an effective and efficient manner including performance monitoring, database security, user management, and backup/recovery techniques. The lesson topics are reinforced with structured hands-on practices.
Oracle DBA Workshop I
This workshop is designed to prepare you for the corresponding Oracle Certified Associate exam.Participants need to attend TAG Introduction to SQL,Oracle DBA Workshop 1 & 11 and pass exams to qualify for our Oracle DBA 12 months job experience program
Who should attend?
School leavers intending to get into the job market as Database Administrators, Developers, Support Staff, Technical Administrators and Technical Consultants
Prerequisites
Before attending this course, trainees must meet the following:
- Grade 12
- Required Course: D64252GC10 Oracle Database: Introduction to SQL
- IT qualification an advantage
Oracle requires and recommends that delegates have to attend Introduction to SQL prior to attending Oracle Database 11g.
Course Objectives
After completing this course, attendees will be able to:
- Install Oracle Grid Infrastructure
- Install, create, configure and administer Oracle Database 11g
- Manage the database storage structures
- Create and manage user accounts
- Manage data concurrency
- Employ basic monitoring procedures
- Implement backup and recovery strategies
- Move data between databases and files

The course will run over 5 days from 9H00 – 16H00
Exams: – The examinations for Oracle DBA Workshop I are not included as a part of this course and will need to be purchased separately via Pearson Vue
Refreshments and lunch:
Tea and coffee will be supplied during tea times. A light variety cold platter lunch will be supplied. We unfortunately can not cater for special dietary needs over the weekends, please bring your own lunch if you have special dietary needs.
Training room size:
We normally train a maximum of 16 trainees to ensure individual attention. Due to COVID19 restrictions we have reduced number of trainees to 8 people

NB : Interested participants must first complete our SQL Fundementals workshop and pass Oracle exams to qualify for this workshop
